Being “Share Aware” online

Published on in Tips and advice

Teaching children to share is important but online it’s different – be share aware and keep the children you care for safe online.

The NSPCC’s Share Aware campaign is aimed at parents and carers of children when they start doing more online, become more independent and use a greater range of devices. The campaign aims to encourage parents and carers to understand online safety and to have conversations with their children about keeping safe.

Tips to help start the conversation with your foster family

1. Explore sites and apps together and talk about any concerns.

2. Ask your child if they know how to stay safe online.

3. Talk about personal information and what to share online.
