Laura - Hull - Registered Manager of PP North

PP Picture frame.png

I'm Laura, Team Manager for PP East Yorkshire. I look after an amazing team that covers Hull, NElincs, Lincolnshire, and the surrounding areas.

I live in Hull with my family—this includes children who chose to live with me, as I'm also a Foster Carer. My family has a number of pets; this is a big focus at the moment, and all the children gravitate to them. I also enjoy cooking, a good film, reading, and building Lego with my kids.

I love my job; it's so much more than just work. It's my world, and I can't imagine doing anything else with my team within Parallel Parents. I work with fantastic fostering families and the best kids!

Emma - Hull - Supervising Social Worker

HI, I'm Emma. I have worked for Parallel Parent since 2020, I am based in Hull and work in the East Yorkshire area. I love working with our fostering family and supporting them through their fostering journey.

In my spare time I am a busy mum who watches lots of sports and enjoys trips to the park, cinema, swimming, forest walks and lots more.

Kelly - Hull - Supervising Social Worker

Hi! I'm Kelly Tate, I live in East Riding of Yorkshire. I live with my husband, two daughters and our mischievous cocker spaniel. I have been a qualified social worker for almost 14 years. I worked as a children's social worker for 5 years before moving into fostering, having worked for Independent fostering agencies as a supervising social worker for the past 9 years. I really enjoy supporting foster carers through their fostering journeys and seeing children and young people progress and reach their potential. In my spare time, I enjoy a good TV series and watching documentaries, spending time with my family and friends and going on long dog walks.

Naomi - Hull/Lincolnshire - Trainee Supervising Social Worker

Hello! My Name is Naomi and I live in Doncaster. Along with my Husband, my beautiful (but very energetic) little boy and our even more energetic cocker spaniel - We have been fostering with Parallel Parents for over a decade!

I am currently completing my final year Social worker degree and have been working for PP over 6 years as a fostering Support Worker. I am so passionate about helping others and absolutely love my role working with some incredible fostering families.

Other than spending quality time with my family and friends, I also love to sing and you'll often hear me singing away without even noticing that i'm doing it! Oops!

The Yorkshire team are fantastic and we love meeting new people and thinking of effective ways in which we can support our amazing families.

Kat - East Midlands - Team Manager

PP Picture frame.png

My name is Katrina, but most colleagues refer to me as Kat. I have worked for Care Today/Parallel Parents since December 2004. Earlier in my career I worked for Care Today in one of our residential homes in Liverpool, and then when I moved to Leicestershire I joined the fostering branch of the organisation known as Parallel Parents.

I have worked with all ages of children and it is very rewarding when they make progress and become happy and healthy in foster care. In my spare time I like to upcycle things and I like renovating furniture. I like to chill reading a book or watching a film, and I also write poetry. I like music and love a good dance when I venture out.

I love animals and I have three cats that are podgy and pampered. Two of them were born in a barn and destined for the RSPCA but my intervention has created a good life for them. Parallel Parents have done the same for many foster children over the years working with our foster carers to provide them with safety and love.

You really can make a difference.

Cathy - East Midlands - Support Worker

Hi, my name is Cathy, I am a support worker at Parallel Parents. I have worked with the East Midlands team for a couple of years now. I am also a foster carer which helps me to understand how to best support other carers. I love both my roles, no day is the same and it is so flexible.

I worked for 15 years in an early years setting and use some of those skills in my current role. I love meeting all the lovely children and their carers, I do my utmost to keep the children safe, feel supported and happy in their foster homes.

In my own time I like to spend it walking, gardening, travelling in this country and abroad. Most of all I like to hang out with my family and friends.
