Hi,

I'm Laura, Team Manager for PP East Yorkshire, I look after an amazing team that covers, Hull, NElincs, Lincolnshire and surroundings area.

I live in Hull with my family- this includes children who chose to live with me, as I'm also a Foster Carer.

My family has a puppy- this seems to be our focus at the moment and just adapting to dog walks and dog friendly days out. I also like a good film, reading and building lego with my kids.

I love my job, it's so much more then just work, it's my world and I can't imagine doing anything else with my team within Parallel Parents - I work with fantastic fostering families and the best kids!

Shannon

Hi, my name is Shannon and I’m one of the supervising social workers in the Yorkshire West team, and I joined Parallel Parents fresh out of qualifying as a social worker in 2019. I’ve previously worked within the care sector, as well as in semi-independence residential homes prior to qualifying, and since being in my role with Parallel Parents, I have also worked within Care Today. I have also previously worked as a Local Authority supervising social worker.

I have so many fond memories of my work with children and foster carers, have had the pleasure of supervising many foster carers, both new and experienced, and I’ve completed many Form F assessments.

I thoroughly enjoy my role with Parallel Parents, particularly seeing the amazing work that our foster carers do for the children in their care, and seeing the fantastic progress that they make. I love seeing new applicants going through their assessment, going through Panel, and going on to be exceptional foster carers who strive to support vulnerable children and provide safe, loving homes where children can thrive. I have built some amazing relationships with my colleagues and foster carers throughout my time at Parallel Parents so far, and have very fond memories of supporting foster carers through both challenging and rewarding times.

In my own time alongside my role at the agency, I love camping, climbing mountains, and rock climbing! Me and my cocker spaniel like to go on lots of walks and adventures together

Hi! I'm Kelly Tate, I live in East Riding of Yorkshire. I live with my husband, two daughters and our mischievous cocker spaniel. I have been a qualified social worker for almost 14 years. I worked as a children's social worker for 5 years before moving into fostering, having worked for Independent fostering agencies as a supervising social worker for the past 9 years. I really enjoy supporting foster carers through their fostering journeys and seeing children and young people progress and reach their potential. In my spare time, I enjoy a good TV series and watching documentaries, spending time with my family and friends and going on long dog walks.

Jayne

My name is Jayne. I have worked for Care today and Parallel parents for 17 years. My passion for this work began when I was a single parent and we all know how hard it is to find hobbies our children love. However my daughter found in line skating as her favourite pastime and taking her to the skatepark I met residential staff ,fostercarers and parents and some young people who over the weeks I built up a good relationship with,I was informed by a residential staff in another company to apply for a job which I did. I was able to support my daughter who became a world champion stunt skater and also get a degree in law which she does not use, however she also works with young people from Deprived areas and refuse education, we were able to travel to many beautiful places where she would compete. I feel I have helped many young people in lots of different ways and hopefully can continue. I don't know what job I would be doing now if it wasn't for listening to my daughters wishes and meeting all those young people.
